Food-service gloves are chosen by task and by material. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber; vinyl is PVC; poly gloves are made from polyethylene film; hybrid gloves blend materials in a format the manufacturer names. If your teams use different gloves for prep, the line and cleaning, compare each one against its own task.
A food-service glove’s key document is its food-contact statement. Food-contact compliance concerns the glove’s materials under FDA’s food-additive regulations, and FDA places that responsibility on the manufacturer. Nitrile glove makers commonly cite 21 CFR 177.2600; vinyl, poly and hybrid gloves often cite 21 CFR Part 177 as a whole. We show the regulation each manufacturer names and add no food-safety labels of our own. A food-service glove isn’t a medical device and isn’t for patient care.
We carry PIP’s Ambi-dex Axle nitrile and 64-346PF synthetic gloves, and Tronex’s 8955 vinyl, New Age TX-III hybrid and 2424UNI poly gloves — the poly packed 100 per hang-tab pack, 8,000 per case.
