An N95 is a filtering facepiece respirator approved by NIOSH, part of CDC. Its approval number (TC-84A-…) can be checked on NIOSH’s Certified Equipment List, by number or by manufacturer. A surgical N95 is regulated by both NIOSH and FDA, as a Class II medical device, and its listing shows the fluid resistance its manufacturer states. A face mask is not a respirator.
Styles include molded cup, flat-fold and expanded-chamber designs, and the straps, nose clip or foam, materials and exhalation valve vary by model. Some models contain natural rubber latex. Each listing shows these as the manufacturer states them, with the sizes the model comes in.
We quote respirators by exact model and size — the ones your staff already wear — and never substitute a different model without your written approval.
We carry N95 respirators from 3M, Halyard, Moldex and Gerson, in surgical and standard models.
